DIRECTIONAL PREFERENCE FOR LOW BACK PAIN

For the low back, it can be helpful to use a directional preference to help guide the exercise plan.

For some instances of low back issues, people will have a clear preference: lumbar flexion or lumbar extension.

Most of the time people prefer extension but the lumar spine is naturally extended at baseline.

We can use this to modify exercises, choose the best exercises, and improve pain-free form.
